While at the Shell gas station on East Main Street in Yorktown on Wednesday afternoon, an officer from the Yorktown Police Department spotted a man stealing two Jack Link's beef steaks. The man - later identified as 48-year-old Yorktown resident Panayotes Kildonas - then took off in a car, according to police.

Police said that when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, Kildonas allegedly fled, speeding away, disobeying traffic signals and without using turn signals. He eventually came to a stop in a driveway on Old Yorktown Road.

According to police, Kildonas was driving drunk and refused to take a breathalyzer. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana.

Kildonas was arrested and charged with petit larceny, DWI, unlawfully fleeing a police officer and unlawful possession of marijuana. After being processed, he was released on $250 bail. He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on Aug. 9 to answer the charges.
